With “Mario Giacomelli. Giacomo Leopardi, L’Infinito, A Silvia”, curated by Alessandro Giampaoli and Marco Andreani, the exhibition presents the photographic sequence at the heart of one of the most fascinating and least explored chapters in the history of post-war Italian photography and of the relationship between literature and photography. On display will be A Silvia, the celebrated photo-narrative inspired by Leopardi's poem of the same name, in its original 1964 version — of which all trace had been lost until now — and in its 1988 version, together with the L’Infinito series, allowing the public to make a comparison and gain insight into Giacomelli's extraordinary stylistic evolution over the years.
