Casa Rossini
Since late July 2015, the Gioachino Rossini House Museum has been presenting itself completely renovated, thanks to the major redevelopment carried out by Sistema Museo, in collaboration with the Municipality of Pesaro and the Fondazione Gioachino Rossini. A true one-of-a-kind at the national level for its type and its funding model, it strengthens Pesaro's identity as a city of music.
New spaces. In addition to the first floor, the exhibition area accessible to the public now also includes the second floor of the house, which holds documents relating to performers and Rossini's works and which will be partly dedicated to temporary thematic exhibitions. The ground floor has been completely reworked and is now a freely accessible space where visitors, besides reception and the ticket office, can find a genuine shop dedicated to the Swan.
Latest-generation technologies. State-of-the-art technologies make it possible to browse an important and extensive body of scholarly material in an agile and engaging way. Multimedia tools are a significant part of the exhibition offer. In addition to the audio and video room, new content and digitised graphic material (autograph scores of works and letters) can be consulted on touchscreens along the route, and dedicated stations allow visitors to listen to audio recordings of the documents and letters, so as to better understand the biographical and artistic events of Gioachino Rossini's life. Casa Rossini has also become the centrepiece of a highly advanced technological enhancement project, thanks to the participation of Art Glass, which allows visitors, through special glasses, to live an unprecedented emotional experience. It is precisely through “wearable” technology that visitors enter a completely new way into the maestro's world! Thanks to virtual animations and video, visitors can take an exclusive journey through the House Museum. Wearing the multimedia glasses, the maestro materialises beside visitors and accompanies them throughout the route, through the rooms where he spent an important part of his life. Gioachino tells the story of his life, rich in personal anecdotes, presents some of his works documented through scores and prints, and reads some of his letters.
